Moe's Rocky Road

When I was little, I used to spend the night at my grandparent's house every Friday. Every Friday night, we would watch tv and eat Rocky Road ice cream(my grandpa's favorite). Well, I am allergic to nuts so, I would have to carefully pick out all the almonds. It was a pain! I have always loved Rocky Road, ever since then, but having to pick out the almonds has kept me from enjoying it. 
A few months ago, I got my beloved Cuisinart 2 quart yogurt and ice cream maker. And just case you were wondering, yes, I love ice cream! I can eat ice cream anytime, even in the dead of winter! Well, now that I make my own ice cream, I can make any flavor that my little heart desires. And since, I love to make my own recipes for things, I was in frozen culinary bliss! So, I came up with my own version of Rocky Road, Moe's RockyRoad, to commemorate those Friday nights with my grandpa.
Moe's RockyRoad Ice Cream
1 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
2/3 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cup of 1% milk
3 1/4 cup of fat free half and half
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
3/4 cup to 1 cup of carmel sauce or carmel topping
1-2 cups of marshmallows, it's to your liking
In a medium size bowl, sift the cocoa. Then add the sugars and stir with a spoon, make sure there are no lumps. Next add the milk and mix on low to medium speed until it is well blended. It will be thick. Add the half and half and stir, so that it is well blended. Place in your ice cream maker for about 10-15, till it is slighty thickened. Then add carmel and marshmallows and continue to mix in the ice cream maker for about another 15 minutes, or till it has the reached the consistency you desire. Enjoy
The best thing about this ice cream is that there are no preservatives and that it is so low fat and yet so smooth and cream.
