Bring your kid to work day
Yesterday was bring your kid to work day. Well, not really, I just brought my kid to work.
Once a week, I make the long treck out to the end of oblivion, Van Nuys, to work at my favorite client's sign shop. Einstein has been dying to go with me ever since I told him that the sign shop made signs for Disneyland. Being the boy that he is, Einstein just had to see how these signs were constructed. So, I made the crazy decision to take Einstein with me yesterday. I packed up my laptop and he packed up his drawing stuff and we headed off.
It was so nice have someone with me on that long drive over there. When we got there, I introduced Einstein to all the guys, all 4 of them, and then Einstein settled in at the desk next to me. He searched for legos online and I worked on the billing. After he got tired of working on the laptop, he went to the back and the shop manager showed him how to make some simple signs. After a little bit, Einstein came back up to the office and helped me stuff and stamp some envelops. After by the mid afternoon I was done and we headed back home.
Overall, it was really fun to have Einstein come along with me, especially on the long drive back home. We had a great time together. Maybe we'll do it again some time.
