I have a slight magazine obsession. I subscribe to about 10 home decor magazines and 4 beauty/fashion mags. I know, I know it's bit much, but I just can't help myself. I love to read and I love to get things in the mail...it's a true win/win situation.
Anywho...I have recently stumbled upon a new magazine, e-magazine that is. I love e-mags because they 1)don't take my space in my home and 2) I always know where to find them. La Petite is wonderfully sweet e-mag all about the wee one in your life. It's chock full of inspiration, design, stories, fashion, diy and fun "mom" stuff.
So, how do you like my wonderful new blog makeover??? The wonderful Nicole of Mrs. Muffins and Mrs. Muffins Blog Design is behind my new blog design...isn't it just grand! I'm head over heels in love with my new blog design; it couldn't be more perfect.
Well, I was lovin' my new blog so much that I had the dear Nicole redesign my other blog, Domestic Nest Diary, as well. Head on over there too, and let me know what you think.
Now, that my blog is done, I'm gonna start working towards crossing off some other things on my list.
Oh, and don't forget, as soon as I reach 25 followers I plan on having a little giveaway. So tell your friends. Sometimes it's good to be a follower. Also, don't forget to grab my cute little button.
You wouldn't know it from this picture, but for the last hour he has been tackling and pushing around other little boys.
Saturday was Einstein's first football game.
The husband has been waiting for this moment, since like forever. I, however, could have waited for anotehr 50 years for this moment.
Here is Einstein sweating bullets just thinking about getting tackled. I think he wants to quit. It's ok if you want to quit, quitters are cool. Ok, so maybe he's not sweating bullets, I am, both figuratively and literally. And he doesn't want to quit, he wants to get out there and tackle some other mothers' dear little boys' to the ground. Ok, baby boy, go run out there and tackle some boys.
Here is Einstein being fierce. He's ready to block anything that comes his way.
After the tears subsided, I really started getting into the game. Here is Einstein strategizing with this teammate. (Note: Einstein's team is combined with another team, so the players either have red or royal blue jerseys.)
By the end of the game, Einstein was pooped and so was I. After all a mommy's heart can take so much.
So, how was your weekend? What fun things did you do over the weekend?
Do you have any plans for the weekend? Me, well I have a little list of things...
*catch up on my journaling pages for I heart fall
*catch up on my magazines
*make a piece of art work for Einstein's room
*maybe do something off my 30 before 30 list
*do a little bit of homework
*work on some stuff for my etsy store
*go a on a little date with the husband
*go to Einstein's first football game
So, what are your plans? Anything new and exciting? Here are some things you might want to do.
Last Tuesday I officially became a college student once again.
Last Wedneday, Einstein officially became a second grader.
Monday, Einstein officially became a football player.
This means I'm officially soooo busy! Since it all started, I have only been managing about 5-6 hours of sleep a night. Let's just say that I'm on a verge of a collaspe. Luckily my mom picked up Einstein from school yesterday, so I got to take a nice long hour and half nap..it was pure bliss. I am working on setting up some kind of schedule so that I have time for everything, especially sleep. So, I want to say sorry for my brief disapparing act, but I promise this will not happen again, I hope.
In the meantime, I've stumbled across a few neat little things.
If I ever have a baby girl I would like to make these clouds to hang above her crib.
I would love to do this for my next birthday, seeing that I will be the big 3-0.
No, I did not move to New Hampshire, I wish. I am completing all my classes online. And although, after my not so good experience with the Art Institute Online, when I vowed I would never take online classes again as long as I lived, I am giving online school another shot. Mostly because the Southern New Hampshire University is "real" school. Unlike the AIO, SNHU is a university fully accredited and everything.
Well, yesterday was the official first day of class. And although I was so nervous the night before that I couldn't sleep, it wasn't all that bad. Don't get me wrong it's not gonna be a walk in the park, it's challenging and all, but in a good way. I decided to start off with just one class until I get back into the swing of things. Each class is only 8 weeks, so I'm gonna have to be very diligent and dedicated, but with God's help and a little time management I will succeed. My first class is Intro to Humanities and I'm so excited about it. It is so interesting. Not quite sure what's up next, but whatever it is, it will be fun, I hope.
Well, I'm off to drop Einstein off to his first day of second grade, sniff, sniff. I am going to wear my big, dark movie star sunglasses so that I can hide the tears and not embarrass him too much.
So, now I have officially crossed off #25. Back to Harry.
Isn't he strikingly handsome???
He put on a wonderful show! Simply amazing! The first half the show he played some classic jazz songs. A few from his lastest album, a few from his past albums and a few of his favorites. His big band was amazing! And the LA Philharmonic was a nice touch.
The second half of the show, after a quick shirt change, Harry came out and sang some jazzy blues...what a show. Harry and his friend were the amazingly wonderful. At one point, Harry put his microphone on the floor and started tap dancing. Not too long later his friend started dancing with him.
The show, the songs, the whole atomosphere was wonderful. Harry really puts on a wonderful show. He is very humble and thoughful. Throughout the whole night he was sharing stories and cracking jokes. He had us laughing so hard.
All I've gotta say is this, if you love jazz then you must see Harry Connick Jr. live at least once. His cd's don't do him justice! I always knew he had a great voice, but when you hear him live, his voice is a million times more wonderful. His voice is so rich and beautiful, I can't really describe it, you just have to hear it. So, if you haven't already, you must go see Harry Connick Jr. live just once in your life. You will never forget it.
Yes, I am sad to see summer slipping away, but fall has some new and exciting things waiting for me like this.
I just can't wait until I heart Fall starts! If you like to journal or what to start journaling you must check out this online journaling class.. There are only a few spots left. And while you're at it why don't you check out Janel's wonderful blog too!
A couple new and exciting opportunities may come into fruition. I am very excited to see what fall has for me.
School will be starting.
Apples will be rippening and needing to be picked.
Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I just want to roll over and go back to bed. But I have responsibilites and I'm not rich and so I do not have the luxury to staying in bed all day.
The yesterday morning I decided that I was going to wallow in self pity just until I picked up Einstein from his grandma's house. I decided to catch up on some of favorite blogs, because what else do you do while in the midst of a pity party. It was when I hopped on over to Run With Scissors that my pity party came to an abrupt halt. Being a lover of words, I got so excited when I saw her post entitled Words of Wisdom. I could use some good quotes right about now, I thought to myself. I anxiously started reading. When I read the second quote, I knew that there was no coincidence that I was sitting there reading Janel's post at that exact moment. When I got to the third quote, I knew that God was trying to tell me something. When I finished reading her post I felt so much better. I called off my pity party, got dressed and went outside to enjoy the beautiful day that the Lord had made.
