{i don't do dishes}

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

One thing that makes me husband amazingly cool is that he does my dishes. i can honestly say that i have done the dishes only a handful of times since we got engaged. after we got married we made an agreement, as long as i cook dinner, he would always do the dishes and clean the kitchen too.

Ever since my little princess arrived, our dirty dishes have increased; who knew such a little person could go through so many dishes. if you come to my house on any given day, there is a huge possibility you will see some dishes in my sink. Now, I must confess when I speak of "doing dishes" I do not mean by hand, we have very fortunate to have a dishwasher; however I soon learned that just because you have a dishwasher does not mean that you do not have "pre-wash" your dishes. It is because of this that I sometimes think that dishwashers are a bit more work than help. I have loaded the dishwasher a handful of times, but quickly gave up because I never seemed to load it right and all the work of pre-washing...ugh. So, when I heard that with Cascade Platinum you did not have "pre-wash" I thought I would give loading the dishwasher another try, after all, the dishes were getting backed up and it was driving my crazy. So, I loaded all the dishes in, dried, stuck on food and all, popped in a Cascade Platinum and started it up.

Now, I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first. After the dishes were done, I carefully opened the dishwasher expecting to see the same dirty dishes I had put in there the hour before. I was completely shocked to not only see clean, spotless dishes, but my disher was clean too! I told the husband, and he didn't believe me at first until I opened the dishwasher and he saw how clean everything was...he made me promise, right then and there, to never buy any other dish washing detergent again. I happily agreed.

ONe more confession before I go, I learned that I do not know how to properly load a dishwasher, so if you're a novice like me you might find the video below handy.

{Sometimes new beginnings can be bittersweet}

Late Sunday night, I clicked "Submit" for the very last time.

And with that simple click of my mouse my life as an undergrad came to a close. I had been looking forward to that moment for so long and while it was freeing, it was also bittersweet.

Over the past 2 1/2 years I have been reading, studying, writing, reading, studying, writing all for this very moment and now that it's here it is bittersweet.

I can understand why most graduates feel lost after graduation. After spending so many years spent studying, writing, working hard--then all of sudden it all abruptly stops. And while you knew this day would eventually come it always seemed so distant, so far into the future. And now that it is finally here, staring you in the face it can be intimidating. You are left at cross roads as to what to do next. There are so many opportunites in front of you and you become so overjoyed with the possibilities and yet scared you might fail and the last few years would have been a waste.

And so as I say goodbye to my undergrad days I look foward to a new beginning, though bittersweet, yet so full of hope. I may not land my dream job, but that does not mean I should not try my best at what opportunities may come my way.

Hoorah for new beginnings and new opportunities!

{life lately}

there have been silly faces.

new hiding places have been found.

there have been many impromptu tea parties.

hugs from this guy have made bad days tolerable.

this week has been full of tears, self-doubt and extreme exhaustion--nothing a few hugs, some good news and a loving,forgiving heavenly Father could not cure.

{thankful::the little things}

life has been giving me baskets upon baskets of lemons lately and i've been doing my best to make lemonade, but it's been hard. One of the things God has been teaching me is to focus on the little things and so today i'm thankful for the little things.

I am thankful for morning cuddles with this sweet girl...savoring each and every minute of our morning times together before our newest little makes an appearance.

so thankful his team finally won the championship. he now has a championship trophy in each sport: football, soccer, basketball and now baseball.

also, so, so, so, thankful that yesterday was the last of school for einstein! hello to sleeping in once again...well, sort of, i still have a 2 year old who loves the early morning hours.

thankful for sunglasses that put a smile like this on her face.

thankful for morning conversations over coco puffs and milk.

what "little things" are you thankful for today?

{lately...}

lately...

...i've been enjoying my little moring talks with this little lady. she's growing up way too fast and i'm doing my best to soak up this special time we have together before our new little "peanut" joins us in October.

...i've been so tired. this pregnancy is kicking my butt. it would probably help if i went to bed a wee bit earlier.

...the husband and i have been talking baby names. if you know of any good one's, please send them my way. (stay tuned for the gender reveal coming soon)

...i've been dreaming about summer and all the fun things the kids and I are going to do--the beach, museums, swimming, ect.

...i've been counting down the days till i'm finally finshed with school! yes, i graduated, but I still had 2 classes left to complete and then i'm done! woohoo!

...i've been obsessed with Call the Midwife. If you haven't seen it, you must! i've been kinda crushing on english shows ever since Downton Abbey.

...i've been making mental lists of all the things i'm going to get to do once i'm DONE with school. first up on my list, sew, sew, sew my little heart out.

...i've been contemplating opening up another shop and possibly closing down little doe-eyed girl. not sure exactly what i'm going to do yet, so if you think it will you pray for me.

...times have been hard and there were days when I just wanted to cry all day because as the day progressed things just seemed to get worse and worse. i know God is trying to teach me something, obviously, but i must admit i've been a stubborn girl. well, he's got my attention (more on this later)

...i'm being to hit my nesting mode and the fact that this baby is going to be here in just 4 1/2 months is really starting to hit me.

...i've been gearing up to start potty training my little princess. She seems ready, so please pray for us.

What have you been up to lately?
